Fuel Systems Management, Maintenance and Operations since April 1986, ASIG has operated the largest fuel consortium in the world, LAXFUEL, at Los Angeles International Airport

In 2002 BBA Group spent £38 million acquiring further FBO's in the USA and extended its commercial aviation services by buying a freight and ground services business. In the USA Superior Nonwovens was bought and Aviation Systems expanded with the acquisition of Airight Inc.

Bolt on acquisitions were made in Aviation during 2003 with addition of a Signature FBO at St Louis MO and Premier Turbines, an engine overhaul business in Neosho MO. BBA Fiberweb acquired Tecnofibra in Italy, a manufacturer of industrial nonwovens. BBA Nonwovens was rebranded as BBA Fiberweb.

In 2004 the Group enhanced its geographic presence and market position with eight acquisitions in Aviation Services providing 23 more locations. It completed a major restructuring of the engine overall business in USA. Materials Technology acquired Tenotex, specialty nonwovens, with plants in Italy and Spain.

The Group extended its global presence in Aviation Services in 2005 and 2006 with bolt-on acquisitions bringing the total number of Signature bases to 80. In 2006 the Group acquired Arnoni Aviation Services Inc. and Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing Inc., expanding its portfolio in both Landing Gear & Hydraulics and Component Repair & Overhaul.

In November 2006, BBA Group demerged fiberweb and completed its transformation to a focused Aviation Services company. At that time, the company changed its name to BBA Aviation plc.
