Celes Blackney joined ASIG’s ground handling operation at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in 1997 as a ramp agent. Today, as Ramp Duty Manager, he supervises over 120 employees who work ASIG’s wide body aircraft customers at Terminal B.
As part of the management team he is responsible for the safe positioning of equipment such as cargo loaders and pushbacks around the aircraft as well as moving aircraft during arrival and departure. During his shift, Celes moves from gate to gate, satellite to satellite, ensuring the safety and on time performance of customers’ flights.
