BOARD CHANGES
BBA Group PLC today announces that Roy McGlone will succeed Roberto Quarta as Chief Executive in March 2001 and has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive with immediate effect.
Roberto Quarta is to join Clayton Dubilier & Rice, a leading private equity firm, as a partner based in London. He has been appointed Deputy Chairman of BBA with immediate effect, and will assume the role of Non-executive Chairman of BBA after the next AGM in April 2001, succeeding Vanni Treves.
The recruitment of a new Group Finance Director is well underway, and an announcement will be made in due course. In the meantime, Roy McGlone will continue as Group Finance Director. George Cartwright, Head of Materials Technology, will continue as an Executive Director of the Group.
BBA has been led by Vanni Treves, Roberto Quarta and Roy McGlone in its ongoing transformation over the last several years. The Board is confident that this evolution in leadership will provide further benefits for shareholders in the future.
Commenting on the changes, Vanni Treves said:
"Roberto and the management team have transformed BBA and, as today's results show, the business is in great shape.
"I am delighted that Roy, who has been a fundamental part of this success, is becoming CEO and that Roberto will be staying on as Chairman. I have every confidence that the team will continue to drive the business from strength to strength."
