APPH
APPH is a niche landing gear and hydraulic sub-systems manufacturer, designing, engineering, manufacturing and supporting systems and sub-systems for original equipment and aftermarket applications including military helicopters, advanced fighter jets and civilian aircraft.
APPH companies provide a full range of services to OEMs and their customers, from initial design through to certification, qualification, testing and aftermarket support via repair, overhaul and parts. APPH products typically have life spans of 40+ years and around three quarters of revenue comes from programmes where APPH owns the intellectual property rights.
As part of BBA Aviation, APPH’s specialist knowledge and long-term customer relationships are being utilised to support other areas of the business including Legacy Support which is growing its portfolio of legacy landing gear components.
2010 highlights
- Orders secured for new Hawk programme through BAE Systems supplying Hindustan Aeronautics in India.

Management
The APPH group of companies is based primarily in the UK and led by Managing Director Mike Askew. Mike Askew is a member of BBA Aviation’s Executive Management Committee.
