Legacy Support
Legacy Support is the leading provider of high-quality, cost effective solutions in the continuing support of maturing aerospace platforms to the major aerospace OEMs and airframe operators. The business provides solutions for aerospace OEMs and their customers by taking complete responsibility for their non core and legacy products, allowing them to focus on current and future programmes.
BBA Aviation acquired Ontic, its main Legacy Support business in 2006 and, since then, has grown significantly its portfolio of licensed and acquired products to include more than 4,000 parts plus their associated sub-assemblies and components. Legacy Support's technical experience, its relationships with high profile OEMs and its ability to leverage the specific product expertise of other BBA Aviation aftermarket businesses has allowed it to quickly diversify into new legacy product areas such as landing gear, auxiliary power units and associated components.
BBA Aviation’s Legacy Support companies serve over 3,000 customers worldwide, including aircraft owner-operators, repair and overhaul shops and distributors, airframe manufacturers and military forces around the world.
2010 highlights
- Organic revenue growth of 16%.
- Successful execution of Goodrich Landing Gear licence led to new US Government contract to supply parts to the US Army for the Apache helicopter.
- Early 2011 announced agreement to acquire GE Aviation Systems’ fuel measurement business, enhancing exposure to the commercial aviation market and adding third generation electronics expertise.

Management
BBA Aviation's Legacy Support businesses are based in Chatsworth, California, Houston, Texas and the UK and are managed as a group under President, Peg Billson with a head office based in Chatsworth, California. Peg Billson is a member of BBA Aviation’s Executive Management Committee.
