In the tax year ending 5 April 2008, the annual subscription allowance is £7,000 of which a maximum of £3,000 can held as cash. In the tax year beginning 6 April 2008, the annual subscription allowance will be £7,2000 of which a maximum of £3,600 can be held in cash.
